23000 Belarussian Tourists Visit Bulgaria\'s Black Sea Resorts in 2006

Nearly 23 000 Belarusian tourists have visited Bulgarian Black Sea resorts in the summer of 2006, Belarusian ambassador to Bulgaria Vyacheslav Kachanov said.

Belarus has no sea outlet and mountain, which makes interest in Bulgaria as a tourism destination huge, Focus news agency reported.

The number of air companies offering flights between Belarus and Bulgaria for summer season 2007 has increased by 20 per cent, Kachanov said.

Bulgaria's Silistra Hosts International Children Dance Festival

About 300 children from six countries are to take part in the international dance festival in Bulgaria's Danube town of Silistra to be opened on Monday.

The event, which will continue until July 6, is to be held under the motto "Tomorrow's Peace Begins with Today's Friendship."

Young professionals from Russia, Romania, Ukraine, Hungary, Georgia and Bulgaria are to represent their countries' traditional dances in the concerts to be staged in the local theatre.

Archeologists Discover 5000-year old Golden Treasure in Dubene Village

Archaeologists from the National History Museum (NHM) in Sofia found a 5000-year old treasure near the village of Dubene in the region of Karlovo.

Decorations are in the form of spirals made of a thin tubule of almost pure gold, Focus news agency reported.

The find was made during excavation works in small pre-historic mounds.
