Archeological summer

Archeological excavations and findings continue during the summer throughout the territory of the country. Information about a few findings surfaced over the last few days, as the news about them were reported by foreign media as well. However, in parallel with archeologists, treasure-hunters are also excavating and post one of the most serious and continuing problem for the protection of the heritage kept under the ground.

Yachting in Bulgaria

At the end of June, the Bulgarian yacht importer Yachting Bularia exhibited boats at the port in Sozopol Black Sea resort. The most expensive one was sold for 3.6 million leva on June 23.
One of the yachts Atlantis 55, was sold to a Bulgarian businessman for 2,25 million lv, and Azimut 43 for 1.4 million leva, to a construction entrepreneur. Yachting.bg is one of the three biggest yachts traders in Europe, reported Bulgarian news agency BTA.

Antique Swimming Pool Excavated Near Svishtov

A unique antique Roman swimming pool emerged from the ruins of Novae - an ancient town in the vicinity of Svishtov. The discovery was made by Polish archeologist Dr. Andrjei Biernadski, who has been working on the excavations since mid June. Historians' term for the ancient pool is "nymphaeum." "No equivalent of this pool has been excavated in Bulgaria so far," said archeologist Pavlina Vladkova, who has been exploring Novae for the past 20 years.

Bulgaria to Host Global Tourism Meeting

Bulgaria has been chosen to host the general assembly of the World Association of Travel Agencies (WATA) in November 2007.

Tourism representatives from 40 countries will meet during the event, Dnevnik daily reported.

Bulgaria will host the assembly for the first time in 58 years. The theme of the 2007 conference will be the challenges facing WATA in view of the increasing number of tourism services.

SPA Complex to Revive Tourism in Varshets

The first dig of the investment project in the Bulgarian town of Varshets was made on Monday.

SPA Resort Park will be built on an area of 5000 sq m. and is situated in the very city center next to a 800-dеcare park.
