Thracian tomb near Kazanlak attracts scores of international tourists

Each year, thousands and thousands of tourists from all over the world flock to the Thracian tomb near the town of Kazanlak in Central Bulgaria.

The tomb dates back to the late 4th and early 3rd centuries B.C.E. In 1979 it was included in UNESCO’s World Heritage list of cultural and natural sites.

The tomb owes its popularity to its unique ancient mural paintings.

Tourists Admire the Belogradchik Rocks

Some 3600 tourists visited the Belogradchik rocks this weekend.

The tourist center in the town announced that tourists from all over Europe went sightseeing in Belogradchik this week.

Being one of the applicants for the world's new seven wonders, the destination has turned into a hit in Europe.

Despite the fact, that the beautiful rocks take the fourth place in the chart, the region has been visited by over 180,000 people since the beginning of the year.

Beglika fest 2009

Beglika fest 2009 will take place on the other side of the Goliam Beglik Dam – in the protected area Batlaboaz, near Batak.

A festival with a mission. Music, but not only. High in the Rhodope Mountains, ecologically responsible and environmentally friendly. Beglika Fest sounds too good to miss.

There will be 5 days of fun (between 5 - 9th of August): a lot of people, bagpipes, games, many workshops, presentation forum.

Regular Silistra-Calarasi Danube passenger line to open

A regular passenger line on the Danube connecting the Bulgarian town of Silistra with Calarasi in Romania will be launched.

It will be serviced by a Bulgarian passenger ship that will carry out four runs in both directions daily.

The passenger line is the result of negotiations between the mayors of the two Danube municipalities.
