Sofia Jazz Fest 2007

Bulgarian jazz fans will have the opportunity to attend the concerts of jazz bands Mezzoforte and DePhazz and that of bassist Marcus Miller during the traditional spring jazz festival Sofia Jazz Peak 2007.

Icelandic funk fusion band Mezzoforte will stage a concert in Sofia’s National Palace of Culture on April 18 2007, avtora.com said. The band has already visited Bulgaria twice.

Mezzoforte was founded 30 years ago and had released 11 albums so far.

Evrovision Update on Bulgarian Participants

Bulgarian competitors in the Eurovision song contest Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankoulov rank second in the preliminary voting on the Eurovision website.

Cyprus occupies the first spot. Its representative has 2474 points, while the Bulgarian duet accumulated 2381 points.

Todorova and Yankoulov will present their song during a concert in Italy’s capital of Rome on March 25 2007, avtora.com reported.

Bulgaria's Denkova and Stavinski won World Championship

Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviski won for the second time in their career the world champions title.
Denkova and Staviski defeated competing ice dancing couples in the World Figure Skating Championship in Japan’s Tokyo.

The Bulgarians took the lead after the second phase of the competition, the original dance. They increased the score difference through the free programme, Focus Sport agency reported.

Bulgaria Takes Part in the World’s Fourth Biggest Tourism Expo

Bulgaria will take part in Moscow’s tourism expo MITT’2007 with a national stall. It will take place March 21 – 24, 2007, the State Tourism Agency has announced. Unprecedentedly, the stall will be a two-story one with a span of 608 sq m. MITT is the world’s fourth biggest tourism exhibition.
In 2006 2,700 companies from 111 countries, 65 international organizations, 6 international regional structures took part in it. It is organized by ITE. The expo offers all kinds of tourist services.

First amateur competition “Vivatel Snowboard Tour” has started

The mobile communication company Vivatel have organized “Vivatel Snowboard Tour”, the first amateur snowboard competition in Bulgaria. The contest will take place at “Yulen” in Bansko track on 17th of March and at “Zaeka” (The Rabbit) track in Vitosha on 24 of March.
The manager team of Vivatel has decided that it is enough time to give chance of the amateur snowboarders to show their skills, to win a lot of prizes and to have a lot of fun.
