Gold for Slivenska Perla at Vinaria Expo

Slivenska Perla rakia received two gold medals at Vinaria 2007 in Plovdiv. The producer, Vini Sliven, also won bronze for the unique wine Sliven Shevka 2006. Bulgaria's Minister of Agriculture Nihat Kabil, Plovdiv Fair CEO Georgi Gergov and the National Wine and Vine Chamber CEO Nikola Nikolov handed out the awards at the traditional ball Wine and Love, Love and Wine that took place in the Pavilion 3 of the Fair.

New sports opportunities in Bansko

The ice rink in Bansko has already been working for a month. Although it was not officially opened, the rink officially became one of the favorite places for the guests and the citizens of Bansko. This is one of the most modern facilities of this type and it spreads on 1200 square metres with seats for the spectators. 556 Companies Present Production at Bulgaria's Vinaria Wine Expo

Nearly 556 companies from 35 countries will take part in the International Exhibition for Vine-Growing and Wine-Producing Vinaria 2007 held in Plovdiv.
Vinaria 2007 is the 15th edition of the largest event of its kind in the Central and Southeastern Europe, Focus news agency reported.

Competition brings down air fares

Low cost carrier Germanwings said it is offering from Mar 26 promotional return air fares of 47 to 97 euro (with airport charges) for its Sofia-Cologne route.

Passengers are also eligible for hotels rates of 29 euro per night in Cologne, Berlin or Duesseldorf.

The carrier will launch flights from Berlin to Bulgarian Black Sea towns Burgas and Varna from mid-May.

The new lift in Samokov was successfully tested

The mayor of Samokov Mr. Angel Nikolov was the first to try the new equipment. The head of the executive company “Total” – Mr. Emil Nikolov also attended the event. The ride to the ridge and back went perfectly well, despite of the strong wind. The equipment was constructed at the end of the last year. Its total cost is 250 thousand BGN and it is 1100 metres long. It is part of the project for winter complex over the southern neighbourhood of Samokov – “Boricho”. A brand new electricity system...
