The ski season in Borovets will be opened with the started of the lifts today, and the party for the official opening will take place on 20 December 2009, this Sunday. A snow festival with lots of surprises and attractions for everyone will entertain all guests of the resort.

The attractions in the snow park “Borokids”, the rope town “Boroland” and the shooting ground will be free.

The ski season 2009/ 2010 on Sofia's Vitosha Mountain will be officially opened on 18th December 2009.

The event will start at 7 pm. The organizers from “Vitosha ski” have prepared a special night show on Vitoshko Lale slope.

A lot of surprises and entertainment, attractive ski and snowboard downhill and lots of music are just part of the program for the official opening of the new skiing season.

The Bansko fens are used to the glamorous season opening party. This year it exceeded all expectations for sure. Great ski champions Mark Girardelli, Pirmin Zurbgiggen, Peter Popangeloff, Bojan Krizaj, Paul Accola, Patrick Ortlieb, Peter Mueller and Hubert Strolz competing against each other, but this time for a noble cause – raising funds for the ski and snowboard education of more Bulgarian kids.

Bulgaria’s revenue from international tourist visits in the first nine months of 2009 amounts to EUR 2,271 B, which is a 1,3% increase compared to the same period of 2008.

This becomes clear from data released Thursday by the Ministry of Economy, Energy, and Tourism.

Borovets ski resort expects a heavy snow fall this week, heaviest during Tue night. Temperatures will be below freezing (max -3°C on Tue morning, min -12°C on Sun night). Winds increasing (calm on Sun morning, fresh winds from the NW by Tue night).

This year Borovets again promises to prove that it is the best site for skiing in Bulgaria. A lot of party surprises, snow shows and perfectly maintained lopes will entertain all guests of the resort all season round.
