Plovdiv night of museums and galleries 2011

The Plovdiv Night of Museums and Galleries will offer a concentrated experience of the visual and performing arts for the 7th consecutive year. More than fifty locations – museums, galleries, bookshops, clubs, streets and parks – will remain open to the public for the duration of 10 hours on the night of 17th September, turning Bulgaria’s second largest city into a giant art stage.

Wild horses return back to Bulgaria

Wild horses, vanished thousands of years ago, were settled again, as part of a project for tourism development.

The initiative is taken bu the Bulgarian-Netherlands project, “The new Thracian gold” for recovery of the nature in the Eastern Rhodopean region.

The main idea of the project is to introduce the horses as a tourism attraction. Several nature parks on the Balkans are interested in the project.

The animals were brought in special vehicles from the Netherlands and were set free...

September sun holiday with 30% discount in Bulgaria

The prices along the Bulgarian black sea coastline lowered with at least 30 % since the beginning of September.
The weather is still suitable for sun baths by the sea and tourists continue to flock along the beaches in Bulgaria.
Following the tradition in the end of the summer hoteliers announce great discounts with up to 50 % from the regular rates.
Meteorologists forecast hot and sunny weather until the end of September and this is a good chance for every one to extend their summer...

Thousands of tourists visited Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanassi museums in August

In August close to 62,000 tourists visited the museums in Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanassi, Central Northern Bulgaria, the municipal tourism agency said.

Figures suggest that 23,090 of the guests were foreigners. As far as Bulgarians are concerned there are more visits made by pupils, students and children.

Bulgaria develops eco and alternative tourism

Bulgaria has a great potential and resources of becoming a desirable tourist destination for eco and alternative tourism, but the great wealth of the country is unknown to most Western countries. The ambassadors of the Dutch Postal Lottery, which funds the project "The New Thracian gold" Rikus Wegman and Sijmen Tenwolde said.

The main idea of the project involves the development and promotion of eco and alternative tourism and organic farming in the Eastern Rhodopes.
