Varna is climatic maritime resort of national significance since 1950.
Location: Varna is the biggest Black sea resort and is the third largest city in Bulgaria. It is also an administrative, regional, industrial, commercial city in the country. Varna is known as the Bulgarian Black sea capital.
Resort Healing-prophylactic factors:
There are 12 mineral springs in Varna region. The water is slightly mineralized with high temperature amplitude and high total flow capacity. It is characterized as hydro-carbonate-sulfate- sodium, containing calcium and magnesium.
There are also mineral water with higher mineralization, characterized as sodium-chloride-sulfite, calcium and magnesium, containing hydrogen sulfide.
Another natural healing-prophylactic factor is the firth mud from the Varna Firth Lake, whose physical and chemical composition is very close to that in Pomorie and Tuzlata.
Indications for medical treatment and prophylactic: The combination of favourable natural factors provides great conditions for prophylaxis and medical treatment of numerous diseases. Very popular is the application of spa and medical treatment, mud medication, sand medication, lye treatment, solar treatment and sea baths.
The spacous beaches, sea water, together with the mineral water and peloids transform Varna into a a centre for healing prophylaxis and recreation.
