20 mln Euro to be Invested in Varna, Burgas Airports '08

The Bulgarian airports in Varna and Burgas, taken over by Fraport subsidiary Twin Star under a concession arrangement in 2006, will ingest 20 mln euro in investment next year, said Andreas Helfer, executive director of Fraport Twin Star Airport Management. The airport concessionaire plans to purchase new mounted fire equipment, rewire the electricity grids of the two airports and organise staff training courses. Romania and Germany Generate Bulk of Tourist Visits to Bulgaria

Romania and Germany generated the biggest number of tourists visit to Bulgaria in January-September 2009, shows national statistical data.

The number of Romanian arrivals jumped 40% year-on-year to 1.3 mln, including 600,000 visits declared as excursion or holiday. Some 650,000 Romanians made a transit trip via Bulgaria en route to their holiday destination in Greece.
Bulgaria's northern neighbor is now its biggest tourist market, surpassing Germany and the UK.

BGN 1 mln for tourism development in Troyan

Municipality of Troyan gets about 500 000 Euro for development the road to Beklemeto tourist complex, said the municipality representatives.

The project of developing the infrastructure to Beklemeto tourist complex, via Zelenika neighborhood, is floated by PHARE programmme. The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works has already chosen the executor of the road construction. This is the company from Sofia – “Pat Pribor”.

Bulgaria Records Below-Zero Temperatures

The mild weather in Bulgaria, at the end of October and the beginning of November will come to an end this week, which will set in with temperatures below zero and snowfalls, forecasts say.

The lowest temperatures - between 5-7C below zero - will be recorded in Northeastern Bulgaria and in the plains at higher altitudes.

The week will bring scattered rain showers in Northern Bulgaria that will turn to snowfalls.

Rila National Park to Develop Sustainable Тourism

Rila national park, in Southern Bulgaria, recently joined the PAN Parks European network of protected territories, whose purpose is to preserve what is most valuable in the wildlife on the Old continent. This fact entitles the park to be promoted on world markets as one of the few European destinations for eco tourism within the framework of PAN Parks.
