Let's Get Married..on a Boat..on the Danube River

More than 18, 000 tourists, 7 weddings on board and breach on the Russian market is the balance -sheet of the passed season for the boats of ‘Dunav Tours' (Danube Tours), informed money.bg.

‘Dunav Tours' started with 5 lake passenger ships: ‘Ruse', ‘Sofia', ‘Ruse Prestige', ‘Heinrich Heine', ‘Elegant lady' on which boards this year was serviced 18,533 tourists who traveled on a total of 156 lake cruises.

Golden Treasure Found in Medieval Fortress Markely

By excavation work in medieval fortress Markely near Karnobat (Eastern Bulgaria), archeologists found very valuable golden treasure.
That was announced by the local museum's director Dimcho Momchilov.

The treasury consist of 37 golden coins of three Byzantine emperors, golden ring and five gilt loops. They were found in a clay pot.

Treasures like this are rare for Bulgaria, explained Dr. Dochka Aladjova, science assistant in charge to Archaeological Institute of Bulgarian Science...

Crown Agents golf day in Bulgaria

Crown Agents held a charity golf day at St Sofia Golf Club and Spa on October 26 to raise funds to support a school for disadvantaged children.

The day was aimed at supporting the Traditzia Foundation’s continued commitment to the Vassil Levski primary school in the village of Vidrare, municipality of Pravets. The school has 65 disadvantaged children between the ages of seven and 15, who are of Roma origin, from poor families or who have mental and physical disabilities.

In Japan 2009 Is Going to Be the Year of Bulgaria

In Japan 2009 is going to pass under the slogan Year of Bulgaria, announces a press release of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the visit of the Bulgarian foreign minister, Mr. Ivaylo Kalfin, in the "country of the rising sun".

The occasion is the 90th anniversary of the establishing of official diplomatic relations between the two countries and the 50th anniversary of the re-establishing of these relations after World War II. A rich cultural program is being discussed for...

Danish Hunter Shoots down Bulgaria's Biggest Moufflon

German hunter pays 37,000 Euro for the animal's antlers


A hunter from Denmark got an unforgettable trophy, after shooting down a huge moufflon in a Bulgarian hunting reserve. The moufflon was the largest game bred in this country for the last 20 years. "The animal was shot near Cherni Lom game park," said Yordan Radoslavov, director of the game park. The moufflon was prized with 235 points, which is by only 5 points less than the 1986 national big game record, set at the Voden game reserve....
