Over 150 000 Israeli tourists visited Bulgaria in 2010. Turkey is no longer preferable destination for them and they may choose Bulgaria for vacation, Cherno more daily reported.

According to Israel’ ambassador in Bulgaria Noah Gal Gendler, in 2011 the number of tourist from Israel may increase double.

Pamporovo mountain resorted registered increased number of tourists in February. Guests form Great Britain, Turkey, Romania, Greece, Russia, Ireland and Bulgaria are the main visitors in the resort.

Hoteliers register an increased number of individual tourists from Romania, who travel by cars. The tourists form Greece prefer Pamprovo for their weekend break.

The town of Pernik hosted on of the biggest mask festival in Bulgaria from January 28 to 30. Mask groups from Colombia, Indonesia, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Serbia and Macedonia showed their traditional masquerade costumes.

In the festival participated 91 groups from all over the world, for the first time a group from Palestina also participated in the mask festival.

Pernik municipality organizes the festival since 1966. In 2010 the town was announced as the European Capital of Christmas...
