9 Million Tourists Had Vacations in Bulgaria in 2010

Almost 9 million tourists were registered in Bulgaria in 2010, according to data of the National Tourism Board, an association of the tourism industry, which had a conference in Sofia Wednesday.

The National Tourism Board conference was attended by Finance Minister Simeon Djankov, who promised government support for key tourist infrastructure projects.

The panoramic road Varna – Golden Sands will be restored by a overhead road

The panoramic road Varna – Golden Sands will be restored by a overhead road, announced the mayor of Varna, Mr Cyril Yordanov. The installation will be 300 – 400 metres long.

The preliminary project is already completed. The overhead road will prove a two line road, bicycle alley, as well as a panoramic platform. Bulgaria will invest in culture and history tourism

The government worked hared for the past year to provide a bigger funding for the development and popularizing of tourism sites. This year it will work over infrastructure projects.

Smaller tourism sites will receive additional funding, to provide an appropriate access to them. Especially in Northeastern Bulgaria where the first two Bulgarian capitals Pliska and Preslav are located. Bulgaria - More than Sea, Beaches campaign in Germany

Bulgaria will take part in the International Holiday Exhibition CMT in Stuttgart, Germany and will present itself as a diverse holiday destination, the Bulgarian Economy Ministry has announced.

This year's edition of the exhibition, which will be held Tuesday, will focus on traditional tourism and traveling by caravans and motorcycles.

Vitosha mountain hosts the third edition of the “Learn to ski” program

The main idea of the sport initiative is to increase the number of children actively sporting during the winter months.

The program is organized by the ministry of physical education and sport, the Bulgarian ski federation, The ministry of education, science and youth. The program is estimated to coast 300 000 BGN.

Four days, leading specialists form “Vitosha ski school” will teach the young skiers how to ski. During the last two years 6000 children participated in the program. The sport...
