10 million BGN will be invested in the development of rural tourism

New investments for almost 10 million BGN will be invested for the development of rural tourism with the program for the development of the rural regions 2007 – 2013, announced the executive director of the Government fund “Agriculture” Kalina Ilieva, quoted by the press centre of the fund.

Bulgarian-Romanian project will develop alternative tourism along the the Danube river

A project for alternative tourism will be developed between Bulgaria and Romania. The project is estimated to cost half a million Euro. The centre for support of the small and middle enterprises in Rousse, municipal council Gurgevo, association “Euro region Danubis” - Rousse, and academy for economy science – Territory university centre – Gurgevo.

With the support of European fund will be studied the opportunities for web presentation of all kinds of alternative tourism along the Danube river...

Tango marathon starts in august in Varna

The Tango marathon is an event, which gathers tango dancers from all over the world, united by their passion for tango. During the past few years the marathons have turned into some of the most popular events in Europe, due to the increasing number of dancers. Devoted professional and amateur dancers dance for days without stopping, enchanted by the magic of music and dance. National Park “Pirin” is a candidate for inscription in UNESCO's World Heritage List

The national Park Pirin together with 32 additional nominees will candidate for inscription in UNESCO's World Heritage List.
Thirty-nine nominations from 33 countries will be considered for inscription on UNESCO’s World Heritage List during the meeting of the World Heritage Committee underway in Brasilia. Three of the countries – Marshall Islands, Kiribati and Tajikistan - have no properties inscribed on the World Heritage List to date.

Tourism urges swift changes

Bulgaria’s tourism sector met up with the Ministry of Economy to call for representativeness of industry associations, the possibility to created a united tourism board as well as tourism zoning of the country’s territory. The industry is also seeking the adoption of rules for online tour operators and travel agencies.
