Silistra is announced a European Destination of Excellence

Twenty five tourist destinations from across Europe were awarded the title of ‘2010 European Destination of Excellence in Aquatic Tourism’ at a Gala Awards ceremony in Brussels today. 27 September is the International Day of Tourism

“Tourism and biodiversity” is the new slogan of the WTO. The European commission stressed over the “Role of the cultural inheritance and the new European policy”. The International day of tourism was marked for the first time on 27th of September 1980 by the World Tourism Organization.

Bansko prepares for ski season 2011

The mayor of Bansko Mr. Alexander Kravarov shared his optimism for the forthcoming winter season. By the end of the month the Balkan committee of the mountain towns on the Balkan Peninsula will announce Bansko as the "Winter capital of the Balkans". The decision was already taken.

The European Union will finance tourism project along the mouth of the Danube river

The down flow of the Danube river will be popularized by a Bulgarian- Romanian trans-border project.
The financing is from euro funds for 1.5 million BGN for the project “Trans-border region General Toshevo – Negru Voda – the unknown tourism destination”, announced from the Bulgarian municipality.

The tourism and ecology resources of the two regions will be explored and advertized. The main goal of the project is to create conditions for the development of alternative means of tourism,...
