Night of Museums and Galleries 2010 in Plovdiv

For the sixth consecutive year, Plovdiv welcomes art lovers from around Bulgaria to its annual Night of Museums and Galleries. Following the overwhelming popularity of the event in previous editions, the program this year is organized in two days – 24 and 25 September (Friday and Saturday), starting at 7.00 p.m. on each of the days and closing at 1.00 in the morning.

Bulgaria's Capital Celebrates St. Sofia Day

Bulgaria's capital celebrates Friday St. Sofia Day - the date when the Orthodox world pays homage to the Holy Martyrs Sofia and her three daughters Faith, Hope and Love.

The September 17, 2010 events dedicated to the Day of Sofia will be opened with a parade starting at 11 am from the "Zaimov" park in downtown Sofia.

The flag of the capital will be hoisted at an official ceremony and a liturgy will be held in front of St. Sofia church.

Sails in Bourgas

Sailors from 6 countries will compete in Bulgaria

The 43rd Sailing Championship started in Bourgas yesterday. 200 participants from Bulgaria, Serbia, Macedonia, Romania, Turkey and Moldova marched along the central street in Bourgas.
They will compete in 6 Olympic classes for the next three days.

The guests and residents of Bourgas will be able to observe the competition from the bridge, as the event is taking place close to the central beach.

Russian Investment Funds Interested in Bulgarian SPA Centers

Russian Investment funds show increased and growing interest in Bulgarian SPA centers both on the Black Sea coast and inside the country.

The information was reported by the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) Tuesday, citing the President of the Bulgarian branch of the international real estate federation FIABCI, who said Russian investors are inquiring about possibility to purchase entire complexes at once.

Putin insists on a visa-free regime between Russia and the EU

Traveling between Russia and the EU should be made as easy as possible as part of the transition to a visa-free regime, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday.

"We should move to a visa-free regime together with our European colleagues, since the majority of the partners in Europe support this idea," Putin said at a meeting with students at the Siberian Federal University in the eastern Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk.
