Number of Foreign Tourists in Bulgaria Up 8% in Q1 2010 Y/Y

The number of foreign tourists, visiting Bulgaria between January and March 2010, is up nearly 8% year on year, according to data of the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism.

By countries – tourists from Serbia and Macedonia register the largest increase – 45% and 41% respectively, followed by Russians – 26%. The visitors from Greece are up by 4%, from Romania – 3%, the UK – 2% and those from Turkey are nearly 10% more.

The spa tourism in Bulgaria becomes more popular

Velingrad, Hissarya, Sandanski and Devin are the most popular spa resorts.

An increase in the number of bookings in 4 and 5 star spa hotel is registered from the beginning of the year.
The spa holidays are becoming more popular than the mountain holidays. Velingrad, Hissarya, Sandanski and Devin are among the most popular spa destinations in the country.

There is a 30% increase in the number of reservations compared to the last year.

The festival-exhibition “Green days” opens tomorrow

The festival-exhibition “Green days” will be opened tomorrow in Sofia and will continue until 18th April. The forum is organized by the Bulgarian Association for alternative tourism in cooperation with the Sofia Municipality, the french institute in Sofia and eco coalition.
