Bulgaria takes part in the tourist fair MITT in Moscow

Bulgarian tourism will be presented in the International tourist fair MITT which takes place in Moscow from 16th to 29th of March 2011.

The Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism will represent the country accompanied by 38 companies and Varna and Nessebar Municipalities.

This is the 18th edition of the biggest Russian tourist fair. About 3000 companies and tourist associations have taken part in the exhibition in 2010. Then 79 850 people from 157 countries visited MITT.

Japanese to invest in the mineral geyser in Sapareva Banya

A Japanese company plans to sign an investment contract in April 2011 for usage of the mineral geyser in Sapareva Banya, the said resort’s mayor Sasho Ivanov.

Russian companies have also shown interest in the mineral springs in Sapareva Banya.

The municipality has a license for usage of the mineral treasures for 25 years. In this way the local government has the opportunity to receive all the incomes from the concessions.

Bulgarian culture institute to be opened in London.

Bulgarian culture institute is going to be opened in the British capital.

The mission of the Bulgarian culture institute in London will be to expand the influence of the Bulgarian culture in the United Kingdom. The focus will be on preserving the Bulgarian national culture identity of the Bulgarians who live in UK.

The Culture institute is going be placed in the building of the Bulgarian national embassy in London.

The antique roman fortress nearby Samokov will be refurbished

Samokov municipality presented a project for restoration and preservation of the antique roman fortress “Tsari maligrad” in the “St. Spas” site nearby Belchin.

The history museum in Samokov and the late-medieval church “St. Petka” are already included in the list of the 100 national tourism sites.

We aim to develop the potential for culture tourism in the region and thus transform it into a year round destination.

Bulgaria spa destination for German tourists

There is a high possibility for Bulgaria to become a leading destination for SPA tourism, as it has been discussed between the Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Ivo Marinov and representatives of the General Union of the State Health Insurance Funds in Germany on the international tourist fair ITB Berlin. Bulgaria offers 600 mineral water springs.

German citizens can use the Bulgarian hotels for prophylactic and rehabilitation, as the German Health Insurance Funds cover...
