Bulgaria was chosen to host the XVIII Annual Congress of the European Spa Association in 2013. It was decided after a vote of board members of the association during the XVIth Congress held in Antalya.

Bulgaria was presented by experts of the Bulgarian Union of balneology and spa tourism.

Participants of the Congress in 2013 will be representatives of all organizations, members of the ESPA and leading experts in the field.

The extreme sports fest “Asenovgrad – adventure town” will held on 18th and 19th of June. A special camp created for the fest will accommodate participants with tents and camping equipment.

Bulgaria is among the top tourist destinations for Romanian travelers, but the economic crisis has a negative influence on their vacation plans.

A survey, conducted in the beginning of June, has revealed that due to the crisis many Romanians will favor local tourist attractions, the Romanian news agency Agerpres informs.

Russian tourists visit Bulgaria because of the good behavior of Bulgarians and the low language barrier, according to the consul of Russian Federation in Varna - Yuri Solovyov.

Tour Operators forecasts growth of the number of Russian tourists visited the country in 2011, which in 2010 were 230,000.

The Bulgarian Black Sea coast is preferred by the Russian tourists because of current political situation in other traditional tourist destinations like the Mediterranean.
