Lift connects Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanassi

Lift line will connect Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanasi. The municipality of Veliko Tarnovo has already worked out a project for a rope line, which will make the tourists moving easier, said “Standart” daily.
The representatives from the city council said that the lift will be well integrated with the environment and will not cause damages to the surrounding area. The first station will be at the foot of the historical hill Tsarevets, and the lift will end near “Arbanassi Palace” hotel. Another...

Bulgaria conference tourism revenues up 25% in 3 yrs

The revenues generated by conference events held in Bulgaria have increased 25% over the past 3 years, said the Bulgarian Convention and Visitors Bureau (BCVB). There is no official data on the exact value of conference tourism revenues. The BCVB estimates are based on information provided by hotels hosting conference events as well as four large conference centers, the National Palace of Culture, Inter Expo Center, the Plovdiv International Fair and the Festival Complex in Varna.

Summer season opens on April 20 in Varna

The State Agency for Tourism and National Board for Tourism organize an opening ceremony of the tourist season – Summer 2007 on April 20th, the Board’s press office told Radio Focus-Varna.
A conference titled “Security and Integrated Development of Infrastructure – Investment in Bulgaria’s Tourism” is to be held on April 21st. Bulgarian Interior Minister Rumen Petkov, Transport Minister Petar Mutafchiev and Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Asen Gagauzov are to participate.

Bulgaria Honours Pirin National Park with Colourful Coin

Bulgaria's Central Bank announced it will put into circulation a colourful coin, dedicated to the beauty of Pirin national park, part of UNESCO's World Heritage list.

The coin will be put into circulation on April 12 and comes second in a series of commemorative coins, issued to honour Bulgaria's national parks and reserves.

It has weight of 23.33g and diameter of 38.61mm and will be issued in 600 copies with a nominal value of BGN 10.

'Culture Tourism' Expo Takes Place in Veliko Tarnovo

The head of State Tourism Agency Anelia Krushkova, the Mayor of the old Bulgarian capital Rumen Rashev and the chairman of the Hotel and Restaurant Association Blagoi Ragin are participating in the exhibition.

One part of the themes that will be discussed in the event are: changes in the guide services, museums' development, and also opportunities for financing the "Regional Development" program.

The expo will continue until April 14.
