“Energy Forum 2007” Starts in Varna

400 Bulgarian and 53 foreign specialists in the field of energy will take part in the “Energy forum 2007”, which will be held in the 'St. Konstantin and Elena' resort in the next 4 days.

The Plenary session will be opened by Konstantin Shushulov, chairman of State Energy and Water Regulation Commission, Darik radio informed. During the forum, a total of 126 reports will be delivered. Balkania Bed Capacity to Reach 10,000 Through '10

The bed capacity in Balkania, the mountainous tourist region encompassing the municipalities of Teteven, Apriltsi and Troyan in Central Northern Bulgaria, will jump to 10,000 over the next 2-3 years, said Daria Zarichinova from Tour Club ReMark which is marketing the destination.
The club said at least 30 projects for the construction of new tourism facilities have been approved in the Apriltsi area alone.

Unique Thracian Symbol of Royalty Discovered in Bulgaria

Archaeologists have discovered the most ancient ruler's symbol on Bulgarian territory, what was once the kingdom of the Thracian tribes.

The Bulgarian archaeologists Daniela Agre and Deyan Dichev, who are leading the Strandzha expedition, made the announcement for the exceptional finding on the Bulgarian National Radio on Monday.

Bulgaria’s spa hotels to receive European quality seal

Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa Tourism became member of the European Spas Association (ESPA).

Tsveta Milanova, head of the union, said that local spa hotels had to meet certain ESPA criteria for quality concerning medical services, security and hygiene. If they meet these criteria, the hotels will receive seal for quality.

ESPA’s goal was to harmonise the services in the spa resorts in Europe, she said.

30 Billboards in Moscow Boost Bulgarian Tourism

Bulgaria's State Agency of Tourism (SAT) placed 30 billboards in the center of Moscow with commercials about Bulgaria.
This is the second part of the SAT's campaign for external advertisement in Russia for this year.

The billboards with ads for Bulgaria as a tourist destination are situated in key places in the center of the Russian capital from May 28 till June 10.
