Bulgaria experienced a 7,8% increase in the number of foreign tourists visiting the country in January and February.

The Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism has published data showing that visits were up in the first two months compared with the same period in 2009.


More than 437 000 foreign tourists arrived in these, the two strongest months for ski resorts. People on private visits and taking vacations numbered 273 000, an increase of almost 30% over 2009, while business trips fell by...

Regular flights will start operating from Varna to Saint-Petersburg, announced the press office of Varna airport.

The flights will be operates on Tuesdays and Fridays. Another regular line will be opened from Varna to Ekaterininburg on 07 June. The summer schedule of the airport will be valid from 28 march.

The final stage of the second edition of the project “Learn to ski” of the Bulgarian Ski Federation will be held on 26th March in front of the Aleko chalet on Vitosha. The start of the race is planned for 9:00 AM and the final at 1:00 Pm. Special guests of the awarding ceremony will be the minister of the physical education and sport Svilen Neykov, the minister of youth and science Sergey Ignatov. The head of the Bulgarian volleyball federation Mr. Dancho Lazarov met honorable citizens of Vidin in the conference room of the regional administration. The meeting is organized on initiative of the M.P. from Vidin – Mr. Vladimir Toshev, who is also a head of the volleyball club Bdin-Vida.

Vidin should become a centre of the beach volleyball in Bulgaria and should develop a school for mini volleyball for kids, said Lazarov. The Bulgarian Federation will supply the club with balls and nets....
