Bulgaria expects an year-on-year growth of some 70% in the number of Russian tourists for the 2011 summer season, according to consular officials.

A total of 10% more foreign tourists are expected in Bulgaria in 2011 as a whole, Deputy Economy Minister in charge of tourism Ivo Marinov forecast in Ruse Friday, as cited by BNR.

In his words, most of the foreign tourists in Bulgaria will be from Russia, Germany, Central Europe, and other Balkan countries.

Bulgarian-Hungarian tourism Forum about the southern Black Sea was held today in the Sea Casino in Bourgas.

“The new challenge for the South Bulgarian Black Sea” forum presented the tourism development opportunities of the region.

Part of the forum were tour operators representatives, airlines, travel agents of Bulgaria and Hungary, Bulgarian and Hungarian hoteliers.

The first edition of the “Future with traditions – Kardjali 2011” fest was held in Kardjali on 14th of May. It was the official opening of the tourism summer season.

The fest presents the cultural and historical heritage of the Eastern Rodopi mountain and the opportunities for tourism development.

More than 170 types of “Banitsa” and the traditional local “kupana banitsa” participated in the competition...

More than 150 people take part in the official opening of Pravets Golf Club under the motto “Everyone can play” on 14th of May.

The Prime Minister Boyko Borisov cut the ribbon at the new golf club. Designer of the golf course with 18 holes is Peter Harradine.

European Championship of golf club professionals will be held in Pravets between 27th and 30th of September 2011.
