National day of Natural parks in Bulgaria 2011 is organized by WWF Bulgaria on May, 14. The initiative started in 2007 and this year this will be its fourth time.

Volunteers will clean the parks from waste to keep that places beautiful for visitors (in 2009 they collected 15 tones of waste). The campaign also include: cleaning, improving and upgrading the infrastructure and marking of routes in the 11 nature parks in Bulgaria. Information signs will be placed on the most visited...

Bulgaria's Sofia Airport will invest 1.6 million euro in improving security and passenger services this year, the transport ministry said.

The investment aims to make the airport meet European Union requirements regarding airport security and passenger services, the ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

Some 1.5 million levs will go to buy 130 surveillance cameras, to add to the current 320 cameras at Sofia airport’s Terminals 1 and 2.

Museums in Bulgaria and more than 47 other countries with longer working hours on May, 14 – The night of the museums. The secretary general of the Council of Europe and UNESCO supporting the initiative which first starts in France.

On May 5th, 2011 Green Balkan NGO will make a presentation about the touristic services of Pomorie Lake Visitor Center and will officially open the eco-trails around the saline lagoon!

The event will take place in the Visitor Center of Pomorie Lake in the town of Pomorie (on the southern bank of the lake, next to the Salt Museum).
