Summer tourist season in Bulgaria mountain resort of Bansko started with the folklore festival 'Between Three Mountains', informed the mayor of the city Aleksander Kravarov.
He highlighted that the events coincides with the holiday of Bulgarian education and Slavic literacy - May 24.
The opening of the season starts in a holiday atmosphere full of national traditions. These celebrations are organized every year by the municipality, Karvarov added.

In '07, Bulgaria exported 2,500 kg of rose oil with output this year seen around the 3,000 kg mark. Local purchasing prices for rose petals have increased to 1.90-2.00 levs/kg from 1.80 levs on average last year. The rise is attributed to the shortage of field workers. An influx of investment has motivated farmers in the Kazanlak and Karlovo areas to switch to rose petal production and the area of rose gardens in the two regions has increased by 2,500 ha over the past 5 years.

Days before the official opening of the tourist season in Kavarna town (North - Eastern Bulgaria) the entire bed supply was already booked by impatient visitors.
This was informed by the mayor Tsonko Tsonev.

The official opening of the season will be held on May 31 with a concert of the Finland band ‘Apocalyptica'.
The 3,460 beds in the city are already occupied.
Round 90% of the holidays-makers in Kavarna are from CIS.

Summer 2008 will excitingly start with the first regatta, to be held at the Black Sea – the Kaliakra Cup. The cup will give the start of the summer season and will take place on the route Blachik – Kaliakra Cape – Kranevo – Balchik from 29 May to 01 June. The regatta is organized with the kind cooperation of Balchik Sea Club, Kaliakra Hills and Unicredit Bulbank and Moët & Chandon Champagne.
Kaliakra Cup is part from the official calendar of the Bulgarian Sailing Federation.

The Roman town Nikopolis ad Nestum, near the current town of Gotse Delchev, in South-Western Bulgaria, will be opened for tourists from June 1 2008 onwards, after its restoration and preservation.
