Guardian: Nessebar is the Best Black Sea Resort

First Kavarna area golf resort opens for business

The first section of Black Sea Rama, one of the three golf resorts under development in the area between coastal towns Kavarna and Balchik, will be officially unveiled at the end of this week, said Kancho Stoichev, project manager and co-owner.

The resort will inaugurate the first nine of its 18 golf course holes and the golf academy. The remaining holes will be playable by August or September.

Sixth International Short Film Festival in Balchik

Der Blaue Affe/The Blue Monkey (Carsten Unger, 2006, 45 minutes) will open the Sixth International Short Film Festival - In the Palace in Sofia on May 31 in Lumiere cinema.

The festival takes place annually in the Black sea town of Balchik between June 23 and 30. However, for first time this year the organisers decided to offer viewers a challenge to pick the 10 Bulgarian and 10 foreign films that will compete for the first place in Balchik. All films have English subtitles.

The FIS Congress approved the starts of the World Cup in Bansko in 2009

Bulgaria officially received the privilege to host a round of the FIS World Cup Downhill race for women for the next racing season 2008/2009. The decision was taken on an official meeting of FIS in Cape Town in South Africa.

Bansko will welcome the best downhill racers on 28th February (downhill) and 1st March 2009.
Bansko received an excellent assessment for the rounds of the European Cup, which were held in the resort last season.

New Bike Lane to Appear in Downtown Sofia

Sofia's transport infrastructure directorate and Sofia municipality informed on Monday, May 26 that exist project for a bicycle lane parallel to Evlogy Georgiev Boulevard in Sofia downtown.
This was informed by Radostina Marinova, chairperson of local Bikevolution association, quoted by The Sofia Echo.

In fact the association was also suggesting a project for a bike lane parallel to Evlogi Georgiev Boulevard designed with the idea to cut traffic and carbon dioxide emissions.
