The Bulgarian song on the Eurovision ‘DJ, Take Me Away' by Deep Zone и DJ Balthazar was declared for the most modern song of the contest on the official website of Eurovision.
The band's singer Joanna was invited to a nude photo session, covered only with the national flag of Bulgaria.

The Bulgarian girl was chosen for one of the 6 most beautiful performers of the contest. She receives the opportunity to pose in front of the camera of the famous photographer Zoran Ilic.

Burgas-based company Sun City said it is start the construction of shopping mall in the coastal city. The shopping center will have a occupy a 13,000 sq m lot in the Meden Rudnik neighborhood. The plot was bought from Burgas Center Invest, a Sun City subsidiary that will invest in the project. The mall will have a build area of 60,000 sq m, including 40,000 sq m of leasable floor space. Sun City will also deliver a second shopping mall in Burgas with an area of 42,200 sq m.

The capital of Bulgaria, Sofia, hosted the 39th regular general assembly of Association de la Sommellerie Internationale and the 11th issue of the “Europe's Best Sommelier '2008” competition. The event went on under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Georgi Parvanov.

The world-famous Bulgarian rose oil is to be registered as a geographical name with the EU institutions by the end of 2008.

The news was announced by the Chair of the Bulgarian National Association for Ether Oils, Perfumery, and Cosmetics Evgeniy Ivanov on the Cosmetics Day, which was marked on Thursday as part of the Plovdiv International Economic Fair.

Ivanov announced that the preparation for the registration of the rose oil had continued two years.

6 cities from the country will participate in a culinary competition organized at the Plovdiv Fair. The competition is the first of a kind and started yesterday, on May 15 in the 18th Chamber of the fair. Twelve teams from six cities will take part in the competition. On the first stage each team will have 2 hours to prepare unique warm and cold appetizer, main dish and desert. The second round foresees preparing of a meal of various, unknown by the participant products until the last moment.
