European Long Night of Museums Taking Place in Bulgaria

Museums in Bulgaria will take part in the European initiative The Long Night of Museums.
More that 60 museums and galleries in the country will show exhibitions for free on May 18 2007.

Photo exhibitions, musical performances and multimedia presentations will be part of the initiative.

The event is held to commemorate the international day of museums.

Second operator of Sofia airport to be picked on competitive basis

The committee made up of the airlines using the Sofia airport will launch a competitive procedure to select a second airport operator, said Sofia airport executive director Plamen Stanchev.

The committee will be incorporated in late May by Hemus Air, Bulgaria Air, Air France, the Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and the low-cost carriers using the Sofia airport.

Elitsa and Stundzhi 5-th at eurovision 2007

Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankoulov, the drum duo, who grabbed the fifth spot at Eurovision final in Helsinki, promised they will stage a show to remember for their fans after they landed in Bulgaria Sunday evening.

"We will have a rest for about a week and then we plan to start working really hard on our performance as it should be absolutely perfect," Stundzhi said.

"It will be a show full of hidden messages, which everyone should decode for himself," Elitsa added.

Bulgaria Gives Go-Ahead to Danube Bridge II - First Sod of the Project

Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev broke ground for the construction of a second bridge over the Danube River, that will connect Bulgaria and Romania.

The bridge is to link the Bulgarian Danube port of Vidin to the Romanian city of Calafat by road and rail. It is a key element of a European transport corridor from the German city of Dresden to Istanbul in Turkey.

5 golf course projects to tee off in Shabla coastal area

Developers plan to shoehorn no less than 5 golf resorts between Shabla and Durankulak, a 20 km stretch on Bulgaria's northern Black Sea coastline.
The Shabla municipality said the projects will be developed by Bulgarian Golf Society and Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Co., both part of Varna-based economic conglomerate TIM, Litex Commerce, Bulgaria Hold and Rosinvest.
TIM is also developing a marina project in the Shabla bay area.
