Danube Bridge 2 is part of important transport corridor: PM Stanishev

Danube Bridge 2 is part of the important transport corridor #4, which connects the port of Thessalonike with Sofia, Vidin, Romania, EU’s central and northern parts, Bulgarian PM Sergey Stanishev said in the town of Vidin, cited by a reporter of Radio Focus-Vidin.
The delegation was officially welcomed outside the building of the district administration. Now it is heading to the construction site of the bridge.

First sod at constuction site of Danube Bridge 2 turned /ROUNDUP/

The first sod at the construction site of the second bridge over the Danube river, which will connect Vidin with the Romanian town of Kalafat was turned. The Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev symbolically opened the construction.
The contract reads the contractor, Spanish FCC, has 38 months to implement the project and 12 months to eliminate any defects.

Bridge across the Danube raises hope not only among drivers

Vidin, Bulgaria - Bulgaria and Romania agreed that they need a second bridge across the Danube, signed a contract to construct it seven years ago, but actually started building it only this week.

'We have been waiting for this bridge for years,' Bulgarian truck driver Nikolay Haylesov says angrily. His comment reflects the view of thousands of his colleagues from across Europe.

Perperikon and Tatul - more ancient than the Egyptian Pyramids

The Bulgarian scientists will try to prove the thesis, that the rock sacred places of Perperikon and Tatul in the Eastern Rodopi Mounatian are even more ancient and mystic than the Egyptian Pyramids.
This is going to happen during the largest archeological expedition in Bulgaria, near the town of Kardjali, the director of the excavations, Nikolay Ovcharov said.

The Trace for Cherno More Highway was Chosen

The green variant for the trace of the future highway “Cherno More”, which is to connect Bourgas and Varna, was approved, the transport minister Petar Mutavchiev said.
The highway is planned to start from Vetren, pass through Rudnik Quarter, the villages of Laka, Kamenar, Kableshkovo, Tankovo and Kosharitsa, and to come out at Obzor Resort.
