Strong Tourism Season for Tsarevo Resort

Bulgaria’s Tsarevo municipality has already generated revenue from tourist tax of 100 000 leva until August 1 2007.

Tsarevo municipality has the lowest tourist tax, 0.70 leva for adults and 0.40 leva for children, Focus news agency reported.

The town’s mayor Petko Arnaoudov said that the low tourist tax gives the hotels the opportunity to form the lowest accommodation prices and on the other hand stimulates them to report the actual number of stays.

Yet Another Ancient Tomb Unearthed in Bulgaria's Sozopol

A team of Bulgarian archaeologists unearthed Tuesday an ancient stone tomb, dated back to the 4th century BC, Darik News reported.

The team, lead by Krastina Panayotova, stumbled upon the tomb during the annual archaeological excavations on the Harmani beach of the Black Sea town of Sozopol.

A man, probably an athlete, had been buried in the tomb because the team found an object used by athletes in antiquity.

New Golf & Sport Complex in Primorsko

The mayor of Primorsko Beach Resort - Dimitar Dimitrov and the president of the Bulgarian Golf Association – Krasimir Gergov turned out the first sod of a new golf course near Primorsko.

The golf course will have 18 holes and will be locate along Ropotamo River. The course will cover 1300 decares of ground and the whole project will feature yacht club, luxurious spa centre, sport complex, tennis courts and 300 one-family villas.

Rock fest Starts in Kardjali

The first annual Bulgarian Koko Rock Fest will take place on September 1, 2007 in the Rhodopi mountain town of Kurdzhali.

The festival will take place every two years with a goal of gathering young rock groups and helping them start their careers, avtora.com reported.

The event is named after the famous musician from Kurdzhali Koko. The festival aims to popularise all styles of rock music including blues, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, hard rock, heavy metal, ethno jazz and jazz rock....

Week of the Sea in Kavarna

Kavarna opens 'Week of the Sea' celebrations, which will continue till 16th August.
The celebrations will feature cultural events, exhibitions, literature premiers, concerts and lots of fun.
On 10th August, the official opening starts with “Seawaves” spectacle of Varna brass orchestra on the stage of Kavarna Square.
The week will finish with rock fest on 18th August, Russian bands playing.
