Bulgaria's Danube City of Rousse to Have Second Navigable River

The administration of Bulgaria's largest Danube city of Rousse is currently considering a project for widening the estuary of the Rusenski Lom River in order to make navigable a three-kilometer stretch of it.

The news was announced by the Rousse Mayor Bozhidar Yotov himself after he returned from his visit to Germany and the Netherlands.

Bulgaria Traditional Rose Festival Held in Kazanluk

The traditional "Rose Festival" in Kazanluk reached its culmination Sunday with a parade through the town's main street.

The festival is being held for the 40th time in Kazanluk.

The parade started at noon from the town square "Sevtopolis" and was as a tradition lead by a group of kukers from the village of Turia. (Kukers are costumed men performing traditional Bulgarian rituals to scare away evil spirits.)

Investors plan to build dozen yacht marinas on Bulgarian coast

Investors have earmarked more than 100 mln euro for the construction of about a dozen yachting marinas on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast over the next couple of years, it emerged at the sailing conference held in local resort Riviera.

At the moment, sailing crews can dock at yachting ports in Balchik, Sozopol, Nesebar and the resorts of Sunny Beach, Golden Sands and Sveti Vlas.

New yacht marinas on the drawing boards boast locations like Nesebar, Sozopol, Tsarevo and Ahtopol.

Crowds of Japanese Tourists for the Rose Festival

The Japanese great admirers of the Bulgarian rose and each year Kazanlak meets many groups with tourists for the Rose Holiday. Over 10 000 Japanese tourists come yearly in Bulgaria, generally for tours around the country. The keen visitors love visiting the Rose Festival, The Melnik Pyramids, the old capital of Veliko Tarnovo and Koprivshtitsa.
Each year the number of the Japanese tourists records and increase of 3-5 %, compared to the previous year.

Fire Show Marks the Official Start of the Season in Sunny Beach

The summer tourism season in the biggest resort on the Balkans – Sunny Beach will be opened today.
