Bulgaria Expects 2-3% Winter Tourism Growth

Bulgaria is expecting a 2-3% growth of the economy during the winter tourist season, Deputy Economy Minister, Ivo Marinov, has announced.

He pointed out that Bulgaria's tourism advertising is showing positive results so far. According to him, the country would depend on it for representing it as a year-long tourist destination.

Exhibition “Shadows from the afterlife” in Nessebar

“Shadows of the afterlife. The Ancient necropolis of Nessebar” is the motto of the exhibition of archaeological values, prepared in the city, informed the curator of the exhibition Anelia Bozhkova.

1 million tourists visited Veliko Tarnovo city in Bulgaria

Almost one million tourists have visited Veliko Tarnovo for this year.

Veliko Tarnovo is enjoying a great interest from tourists, despite of the crises, as the town became popular as a centre of the culture tourism in the country.

The tourists are attracted not just by the historical hill Tsarevets and the unique show “Sound and Light”, but also by the numerous museums, churches and monasteries.

Tourism Poll: Tourists Talk About Bulgaria

Alternative tourism is the only way to make Bulgaria a year-round tourist destination and attract visitors outside the active summer and winter season, expert Stoyan Mihaylov, says.

Stoyanov spoke as representative of a company hired by the Bulgarian Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism, to carry out a research about attitudes of foreign travelers to SPA, cultural, and rural tourism.

Flyniki will fly between Sofia and Vienna twice a day

The Austrian low-cost air company Flyniki launched a second flight to Vienna during the weekdays. The weekends remain with one flight per day.

Flyniki whose owner is the ex-Formula 1 pilot, Niki Lauda started flying to Sofia in February.

Except Flyniki, passengers from Sofia to Vienna may use also “Austrian airlines” and Bulgaria Air. 48 is the total number of flights during the week, between Sofia and Vienna.
