Pamporovo opened ski season 2011

Bulgarian ski resort operator Pamporovo AD has made investments of over BGN 1 million in preparations for the winter season, the company's majority shareholder, Tsvetelina Borislavova, said.
The figure was announced at the ceremony marking the launch of the ski season at the eponymous Rhodope Mountains resort over the weekend. The resort is now equipped with a track with lighting for night skiing stretching between Snezhanka and Studenets and with a new system for artificial snow.

New regular flights will connect Bulgaria’s Plovdiv with Spain

On December 22 Plovdiv Airport will announce its second regular line from the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv to a city in Spain, general manager of the airport Doichin Angelov announced. Bulgarian footballer Hristo Stoichkov will participate in the press conference announcing the new line.

The new flight line will be launched in the end of March 2011. The airport manager did not want to tell any details about the new line.

Currently, Ryanair performs flights from Plovdiv Airport to Stansted...

The road through the Kresna defile is opened

10 days after the Struma river drifted away the international road E-79, the road is already fixed and opened.
The access to the southwestern part of Bulgaria is now assured and travelers can easily reach Sandanski spa resort, as well as all other resort in the southwestern part of Bulgaria.

Pamporovo will host a European Ski Cup in 2012

Experts from the International Ski Federation (FIS) inspected the resort and expressed a high opinion on the conditions and confirmed the decision that Pamporovo will host a race of the European Cup for men in 2012. Mr. Markus Waldner, the coordinator of the European Cup in Alpine Skiing stated that he was pleasantly surprised by the maintenance of the ski runs, the excellent artificial snow system, as well as from the big investments and the new hotels in the resort. Chepelare ski centre opens on 18th December 2010

Tomorrow is the official opening of Chepelare ski centre. All ski fans will be able to hit the slopes. The resort announced that ski slope 1 /red/- will be opened for skiers from middle station to the final. The small drag lifts on Mechi Chal peak will welcome all beginners willing to try the slopes for the first time.

The high speed quad will operate for free on Saturday, when the official opening of the resort will be held. Chepelare ski centre announced that there is enough snow for skiing...
