Snow is Falling around Bulgaria

It was snowing all day long, all over Bulgaria. The snow cover in Bansko, Borovest and Pamporovo has already reached 30 cm. The snow cover in Chepelare ski resort has reached 15 cm. Temperatures in the mountains reach -10 degrees, but the moderate wind makes it feel even colder.
Meterologists forecast that it will continue snowing even tomorrow, which will guarantee excellent snow cover for the festivals in Borovets, Pamporovo and Chepelare, which will take place on Saturday.

Borovets opens ski season 2011 this weekend

This week Bulgaria enjoys the first serious snowfall, which made all keen skiers eager to hit the slopes. An excellent opportunity for everyone who “can't wait” is the snow fiesta in Borovets ski resort which will take place on 18th December this weekend. The organizers plan to offer a snowy and funny holiday . The Winter Tourism Season in Bulgaria Will Be Successful

Bulgaria's 2010/11 winter tourist season will be better than the previous one, according to Minister of Economy Traicho Traikov.

Traikov, who is also responsible for Bulgaria's tourism, stated for Darik Radio Saturday that he expects an at least 3% increase in revenue, with some operators even expecting a 10% increase.

Special brochures to advise tourists in Bulgaria’s Borovets

The police office in Bulgaria’s town of Samokov and the municipality will distribute flyers with advices for tourists in the ski resort of Borovets, Bulgarian Ministry of Interior announced.

The flayers will be available in English and German. Tourists can find the leaflets in hotels, shops and ski lift in Borovets.

The police aim to insure good public order and security for the upcoming season in Borovets.

Rousse history museum applies for American funding program

Regional Museum of History in Bulgaria’s city of Rousse candidates in Chicago Field Museum’ program for restoration.

The project aims to restore Cherven Fortress near Rousse. The museum in Rousse is preparing an exhibition with findings of the fortress.

Chicago Field Museum will scrutinize all projects till the middle of April 2011. If the American museum approves the project, it will start in July 2011 and will continue 12 months.
