“The winter sports conditions in Vratsa Balkan Mountain are perfect”, said the Focus News reporter in Vratsa. The chairman of “Veslets” tourists association, Georgi Petkov, said that the snow cover on the ski runs is more than 170 cm and the pistes are well maintained. The two tows are operating since today. A procedure for the construction of a new passenger terminal and taxiway at the Plovdiv airport has been initiated, Bulgarian transport minister Petar Mutafchiev said on Tuesday. The general development plan of the airport will be drafted by the end of the year. A new tower for the needs of the air traffic control authority will be built by mid-'09.

Local real estate investment trust FairPlay Properties, a unit of property developer FairPlay International, said it has paid 4.5 mln levs to acquire 63,000 sq m of land in the land area of Sapareva Bania, a town in Western Bulgaria.

The REIT said it plans to increase the area of company-owned land in the area to over 10 ha.

The land will be developed into a balneological complex.

Kavarna foresees the realization of four projects in 2008. One of the projects plans construction of fisherman’s village at the seaside zone of Bulgarevo Village. The total cost of the project is 31 810 EUR and the investment is granted by the PHARE programme. Another project, financed by PHARE is for qualification and integration in farming and agriculture in the region.
