Seven Golf Courses to Mushroom Near Bansko

Seven new golf courses are being built on the territory of Bansko and Razlog resorts. "Our ultimate goal is attracting wealthy lovers of this aristocratic sport from all over Europe. This way we'll be able to profit from tourism around the year," Lyuben Tatarski, Razlog Municipality Mayor, explained. The first golf facility is supposed to be operational this spring.

New Lift in Samokov Opened

These days the newly built winter complex “Boricho” opened doors in Samokov. Its official opening will be held on January, 12 at 11 AM at the first station of the lift.
A week earlier now, the lift has already been working and the ski slopes are well maintained and ready to meet the first skiers and fans of winter sports in Bulgaria.
The new ski complex is situated in the most beautiful part of the town and reveals unique panoramic views towards Samokov and Rila Mountain.

Ski resort planned for Biala Cherkva area

The Kuklen municipality, in Southern Bulgaria, plans to team up with private partners to develop a new ski resort some 35 km from Plovdiv, Bulgaria's second largest city.
The resort will be located in the Rhodope mountain and will have 7-8 runs with a total length of 12 km, said Kuklen mayor Dimitar Sotirov.
The highest elevation point in the area is 1,670 m which would ensure a vertical drop of 450 m.
A 20 km gondola lift is also planned from the village of Markovo to Biala Cherkva.

Bulgarian EU membership has positive effects over tourism

Bulgarian EU membership had positive effects over Bulgarian tourism because stability is one of the main tourism’s factors and Bulgarian EU accession is a guarantee for stability, director of the Institute Of Analysis And Assessments Of Tourism Rumen Draganov said in an interview to FOCUS News Agency. In his words Bulgarian EU membership has given an opportunity to many foreign tourists especially Greeks and Romanians to visit Bulgaria for many times.

Bulgaria to Develop Wine Tourism

Wine makers in southwestern Bulgaria’s Plovdiv region plan to further develop wine tourism as a way to support the wine-making industry in the area and attract tourists.

Though the wine tourism branch continues to grow, in 2007 only 0.6 per cent, or 120,000 people, of the total number of visitors to the country were “wine tourists,” according to data by the regional winemakers’ chamber.
