'Tsarevets' Hill-Favorite for Bulgarian Symbol

"Tsarevets" Hill is favorite for global symbol of Bulgaria in the National campaign ‘Bulgarian symbols: choose your Bulgaria', announces money.bg
Tsarevets is a medieval stronghold located on a hill with the same name in Veliko Tarnovo (Northern Bulgaria).

It served as the Second Bulgarian Empire's primary fortress and strongest bulwark from 1185 to 1393, housing the royal and the patriarchal palaces, and is a popular tourist attraction.

Bulgaria's Simitli Opens Traditional Koukeri Fest in Bulgaria

More than 1,500 masked well-wishers (koukeri), aged between two and 80 took part in the traditional fair on Saturday in Bulgaria's town Simitli.

The fest was organized for the fifth year in a row by the local municipality. The event was held at the town's stadium.

Koukeri from Bulgaria's neighboring country Macedonia and people from the nearby village of Sushitsa joined the fair.

The Village of Bussintzi in Western Bulgaria, a Pottery Centre for Centuries

The village of Bussintzi lies only 8 km away from the town of Trun, near the border with neighbouring Serbia to the west of Sofia. Its fame is largely due to the centuries’ old tradition of the popular Bussintzi ceramics.

Bulgaria and Romania to open centre for development of steady tourism in Dobrich

Bulgaria and Romania started a project “Bulgarian – Romanian research centre for steady tourism”, to integrate the academic and business potential of both countries.
The project will operate until March 2009. The Palace in Balchik will be lighted with the support of the “Beautiful Bulgaria” Program

The Palace in Balchik will be lighted for the new tourism season, announced the head of the National Cultural Institute Mr Toshko Gyaurov. 198 000 BGN will be invested in the project with the financial support of the “Beautiful Bulgaria” program.
