Bulgarian Mountain to Become Natural Park

Bulgaria's Belasitsa Mountain located in the southwest corner of the country will be declared a natural park, the regional news website sandanski.com reported.

The formal ceremony will take place in the town of Petrich in southwest Bulgaria on April 19, and will be followed by a concert.

The ceremony is expected to be attended by the Petrich Mayor, Bulgaria's Minister of Environment and Waters, the Chair of the State Forest Agency, MPs, and representatives of NGOs.

'Forest Week' Starts in Bulgaria

The traditional 'Forest Week' starts on Monday, April 7 and will continue until April 13. The 83rd edition of the week is under the motto 'Plant a tree, give hope'.
Accent this year will be the meeting of the UN's Commission for Mediterranean collaboration on forest issues.

For first time the Forest week has been celebrated in 1925, when by the initiative of local Forestry Association the so called 'afforest celebration' took place.

Unique Eco Park Constructed near Elena Mountain Town

A unique eco - project, costing round 2 million EUR is being realized 3 kilometers away from Elena mountain town in Stara Planina Mountain.
The project is called 'Ecopark' Elena and is complex of Bulgarian national style houses and farms for rural tourism.

The idea of the owner Alexander Yovchev is to turn the bought by him 350 decares land in a real peace of heaven.

Tourists to Go Sightseeing by Air in Veliko Turnovo

The tourists, who visit Veliko Trunovo, will have the unique opportunity to go sightseeing by the air.
The price of 15 minutes ride will be 120 EUR.

The municipality has contracted with 'Olympia Air' for 3 and 4 seats airplanes for the air tours.

Most probably the tours will conduct in the evening, when the emblematic for the city 'Sound and Light' show could be also observed by the air.

Bulgaria Tourism Boss Calls for Boost of Cultural Tourism

The Head of the Bulgaria's State Agency for Tourism Aneliya Krushkova stated at a press conference Thursday the Bulgarian tourism companies needed to start offering more cultural tours, the Bulgarian National Radio reported.

In her words, the demand among the European tour operators for this kind of service was rising but the supply in Bulgaria was still insufficient.
