Rafting season in Bulgaria starts this weekend

Rafting season 2008 will be officially opened on the 5th and 6th of April with attractive demonstrations in the swift current of Struma River in the region of Kresna gorge. The event is organized by four extreme sports clubs “Adventure Net”, “House for Books and Adventures”, “Fast Waters” and “X-Club”.

The beginning of the new rafting season will be on Saturday the 5th of April at 10 a.m. The meeting poit for the teams, journalists and guests is at the first tunnel at the begining of Kresna...

Rumen Rashev: Cultural tourism become a national cause

“The Development of the cultural tourism became a national cause” said the mayor of Veliko Tarnovo, Rumen Rashev. The municipality of Veliko Tarnovo hosts the international tourism fair “Cultural tourism” for the fifth time. There are several new tourist attractions in the town. One of them is the new watching platform for the famous audio visual spectacle “Sound and Light” from “Tsarevets” fortress. Albena Resort to Invest 7 M EUR in a Golf Course

Albena resort plans to construct its own professional golf course, money.bg informed.
The investment will amount to 7 million EUR, the resort director Krasimir Stanev stated.
The playground is about to appear near Rogachevo village, over surface of 500 decares.
The preliminary design is work of a French architect.
The project will be implemented on three stages. The first stage forsees construction of training golf academy and will be realized in two years.

Romanian Tourists to Flood Local Seaside Resorts for Easter

More than 10,000 Romanian tourists are foreseen to arrive in the Bulgarian seaside resorts for the Easter holidays, Standart Daily reported.
Tourism experts expect the Northern neighbors will spend round 1,2 million EUR during their stay in Bulgaria.

The Romanians have already booked most of the hotels in Golden Sands and St. St. Constantine and Elena resorts (North seaside).

The tourists will spend between 30 and 40 EUR per day.

Boats in Ariana Lake

Boats and water cycles will entertain the citizens and quests of Sofia since the 12th of April. The filling of the artificial lake starts on Saturday.
The students could use the floating attractions each morning from 8 till 10 o’clock for free. An acoustic wall will separate the lake form the traffic of the local boulevards. There will be retro pictures of Sofia city on the wall. Three creches will entertain the youngest children.
