The bridge spanning the Danube river at Vidin-Calafat should be commissioned into operation by the end of 2010, top European Commission officials told the Bulgarian side during a meeting on the project late last week.

The EC officials said the progress evident at the construction site is satisfactory but that the commission expects better results from the implementation of the project.

On 11 April, one of the attractions of Sofia, the Ariana lake in the “Borissova gradina” park re-opened again, the press center of Sofia municipality informed.

Pedalos and boats will be in use again in the lake offering entertainment and opportunity for relaxation of young and adult.

This year, a children center will function in the area of the Ariana lake. It will be divided in two: for children under 5 and for children above 5 years.

Number of Russian tourists and business trips to Bulgaria in the following couple of years are about to increase, prognostikates Andre Gribi from Switzerland on a meeting with the Board of Directors of the Union for Investments in Tourism.

Pop star Elton John will make a private VIP concert in Bulgaria in October.

Unfortunately to his thousands fans sir Elton John will sing in the hotel of Bulgarian businessman Stefan Sharlopov in Sandanski (Southwestern town) in front of limited VIP audience.

That was announced by famous Bulgarian VIP attaché Evgeny Minchev.

The reason for the special event will be the birthday of Sharlopov, owner of chain luxurious hotels in Bulgaria.

90, 000 tourists from Ireland had arrived last year in Bulgaria and their amount I expected to double during this tourist season.
That was announced by the Irish ambassador Jeffrey Keating by his visit in Varna.
