The European Union is sending a mass appeal to all European citizens to go and spend their winter vacation in Bulgaria, the Standart daily informed.

'Let's Spend Christmas in Bulgaria and Romania' is the motto of the official event, which will take place on Wednesday, December 19.

The initiative is organized by the EC Employees Association, the Brussels-Europe Liaison Centre and the EC Traineeships Office.

Alpine ski top stars were guests to the official opening of the new season in Bulgaria's biggest winter resort Bansko on Saturday.

Six-time Olympic and five-time world ski champion Janica Kostelic together with four-time Olympic champion Kjetil Andre Aamodt and 5-time world champion Marc Girardelli demonstrated their skills on the hardest ski run bearing the name of the legendary Alberto Tomba.

Sofia Mayor Boyko Borissov together with the manager of mobile operator MobilTel Josef Vinatzer opened Sunday in Sofia the biggest ice rink on the Balkans.

The ice rink is situated on the frozen Ariana lake in the central park of the capital and is a result of a joint initiative of the capital's municipality and the largest mobile operator in Bulgaria.

Hundreds of people gathered for the opening of the rink and Bulgaria's pop stars contributed to the party atmosphere on the ice.

Agreement of a direct ferryboat line between Bulgaria and Russia will be signed during Vladimir Putin's visit in Bulgaria, announced Standart daily.
Probably the track will connect Varna and Novorossiysk

Meeting between both Parliament delegations- Bulgarian and Russian, will occur in the Ministry Council building.

More than 350 firms with 500 standstills will take part in the 13th edition on national trade exposition ‘Made in Bulgaria".
The expo open doors on Friday, December 14 in Sofia's National Palace of Culture (NDK). It will continue until December 28.

Organizers of the traditional event are: NDK, Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Made in Bulgaria Union and Business Center Bulgaria.
