Santa Claus on a Bike

Christmas on Bicycles is the motto with which BikEvolution will celebrate Christmas on December 22 at 10.30am in front of the National Palace of Culture in Sofia (NDK). Festive costumes, hot tea and music will welcome all visitors who wish to attend the Christmas parade.

Shared Heritage: cross-Balkan cultural tourism corridor

Bulgaria jointly with Greece and Romania has been building the so-called cross-Balkan corridor for cultural tourism. The route will join the European network of similar routes crossing borders and connecting major heritage sites in different countries and regions.

Hotelkeepers see growth in Bulgarian tourists on holidays

Hotelkeepers see growth in the number of Bulgarian tourists during the holidays, chairman of the Bulgarian Hotels and Restaurants Association Blagoy Ragin said to the FOCUS News Agency.
20 – 15% y/y increase in the number of Bulgarian tourists is expected for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Ragin also remarked that the growth is due to the campaign for popularizing tourism in Bulgaria.

Seaside Balchik Awarded with \'Golden Seal\' for Unique Heritage

After Sozopol's award, today Balchik (Northern seaside town) also gains the prize ‘Golden Seal'.

The award is given by European Expert Forum for unique historical heritage.

Official ceremony for awarding will occur today in Sofia.

The town is 2600 years old.

Snowy New Year's Day

Bulgarians will see thick fog during their Christmas holiday and are to enjoy a snow blanket to cover the ground in the first days of the New Year, according to the forecasts.

Mountain holiday-makers will be able to walk and ski in sunny weather with temperatures set at between 2C and 7C.

A cold spell is to be felt across the country on December 26 and 27 due to strong winds.
