The winter charter program of the “Plovdiv International Airport” Ltd., started with flights from Dublin on 22 December, announced Mr. Plamen Nikolov, vice president of the airport. Bulgarian and foreign air companies will transport tourists, mainly from Ireland, Great Britain and Russia.

Since 2001 the International Ski Federation (FIS) established the tradition for the Big Air snowboard competitions to be staged in the cities of Europe. The organizers of these events would combine them with concerts featuring world famous musicians that would as a rule attract 20,000 to 40,000 teenage fans. Dozens of thousands Romanians have directed towards Bulgaria and Ukraine on a Christmas shopping.
Inhabitants of Central and Southern Romania regions go shopping in Bulgaria, mainly in Ruse, where prices are much lower than the Romanian's.

Romanian citizen are assisted by the fact, to pass the border they need only to pay a low tax for crossing the Danube River Bridge and to show identity card.

Arena Di Serdica hotel in Sofia hosted the official ceremony of the Eleventh Annual Awards of the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (BHRA). Varna Municipality took the prize for the most beneficial cooperation in the field of tourism.
