Major Investors to Sponsor Alpine Tourism Legislation

Penning a bill on mountain tourism, regulating the sustainable development of Bulgaria's alpine resources will be one of the first initiatives of an association set up by the owners of skiing infrastructure and investors with skiing resort projects.
The association includes all companies with major investment projects in Bansko, Borovets, Pamporovo and Vitosha as well as the owners of investment projects in Perelik, Berkovitsa, Dobrinishte, Panichishte and Razlog.

Bulgarian and Foreign Tourists Prefer Mountain Tourism

In the last years was noticed the process of tourists' turn back to mountains. Bulgarian and foreign tourists prefer the beauty and the purity in there, stated Georgy Kiev, chairperson of ‘Kupena' tour association.

The most popular form of tourism is the family tourism. Young people visit chalets and mountain hotels because of the calmness and silence given by the mountain.

Feverish preparations for the “Big Air” in Sofia

Part of the loading platform for the Snowboard FIS World Cup Big Air Sofia 2007 was discharged yesterday on “Kniaz Aleksander I Batenberg” Square in Sofia. Snowboard World Cup Big Air is the most important snowboard contest in Bulgaria and Sofia host such an event for the first time.
The unique facility is 31 m high, 25 m wide and 100 m long and it was transported from Switzerland. It will be mounted till the 19th of December. About 300 t of snow will be dumped over the platform in December...

Bulgarian Winery Exports Rakia to China

One of Bulgaria's finest brands of rakia - ‘Slivenska Perla' will be exported to China, the Standart daily informs.
The export is foreseen to start from 2008. The chief of ‘Vini Sliven' Valeri Chulin told the deal had already been finalized.

Except the Slivenska Perla, the export will include gin and two brands of vodka.

Chulin also shared in front of Standart that the Chinese market is a very specific and difficult. He also added Vini Sliven already made a break on the Chinese market...

BGN 340 Million to be invested in Bulgaria’s Rhodopes by 2010

BGN 340 Million will be invested in the Rhodopes mountain in Bulgaria by 2010, the country’s Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Dimcho Mihalevski said during a conference in Pamporovo, a reporter of FOCUS Radio – Smolyan informed.
According to the information the money would come from EU structure funds, different operative programs and the Road Infrastructure fund.
