The festival “Scene of the centuries” filled the hotels in Veliko Tarnovo

Over 100 hotels in Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanassi were fully booked during the festival “A Scene of the Centuries”, which started on Friday in the Tsarevets fortress.

The package offers presented by the hotels include an entrance ticket for the spectacles. Guests from the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Romania and Russia attended the shows in Tsarevets.

"Devin Golf Open" was Held at Pirin Golf and Country Club

On July 31st Pirin Golf & Country Club hosted the first amateur golf tournament DEVIN Golf Open. Most of the participants arrived on Friday and immediately started practicing oh the Practice area and on the course, stimulated by the attractive prizes provided by the sponsor.
The great interest in the event and the competition proves the effort in developing and promoting golf in Bulgaria, one of the reasons of “Devin- water from the mountain” to join the aristocratic sport.

10 million BGN will be invested in the development of rural tourism

New investments for almost 10 million BGN will be invested for the development of rural tourism with the program for the development of the rural regions 2007 – 2013, announced the executive director of the Government fund “Agriculture” Kalina Ilieva, quoted by the press centre of the fund.

Bulgarian-Romanian project will develop alternative tourism along the the Danube river

A project for alternative tourism will be developed between Bulgaria and Romania. The project is estimated to cost half a million Euro. The centre for support of the small and middle enterprises in Rousse, municipal council Gurgevo, association “Euro region Danubis” - Rousse, and academy for economy science – Territory university centre – Gurgevo.

Tango marathon starts in august in Varna

The Tango marathon is an event, which gathers tango dancers from all over the world, united by their passion for tango. National Park “Pirin” is a candidate for inscription in UNESCO's World Heritage List

The national Park Pirin together with 32 additional nominees will candidate for inscription in UNESCO's World Heritage List.
Thirty-nine nominations from 33 countries will be considered for inscription on UNESCO’s World Heritage List during the meeting of the World Heritage Committee underway in Brasilia. Three of the countries – Marshall Islands, Kiribati and Tajikistan - have no properties inscribed on the World Heritage List to date.

Tourism urges swift changes

Bulgaria’s tourism sector met up with the Ministry of Economy to call for representativeness of industry associations, the possibility to created a united tourism board as well as tourism zoning of the country’s territory. The industry is also seeking the adoption of rules for online tour operators and travel agencies. Trigrad expects thousands of tourists for the “Orpheus mysteries” Festival

The festival “Orpheus mysteries” will once again gather people from all over. Traditionally the mysteries will take place during the last weekend of July. The event will be opened on 24 July, Saturday with a traditional singing custom from Trigrad and celebrations in the centre of the village. Bulgarian Medieval Castle Might Be Protected by UNESCO

The South African Ambassador in Bulgaria, Sheila Camerer has announced that there is a possibility for the medieval fortress in the Bulgarian city of Vidin, “Baba Vida”, to be included in the protected sites by UNESCO.

Camerer has stated that during the weekend nearly 500 tourists have visited the fortress in the northwestern city.

“Baba Vida” is the primary landmark of Vidin. It consists of two fundamental walls and four towers and is said to be the only entirely preserved medieval castle...
