Bulgarian minister of transport Peter Mutafchiev opened today in Silistra the new ferry terminal and ferry line between the Bulgarian town of Silistra and the Romanian Calarash, informed BNR.

The ferry secures a transport corridor for the traffic of trucks from Turkey to Ukraine and back. The terminal situated at an area of 65 189 sq. m. and is the first in Bulgaria concession in green for public infrastructure.

Ski patrols will be imposed this season at the Pamporovo resort, it turned out at the sitting of the standing municipal committee for disaster management in Smolyan Municipality, a journalist of Radio FOCUS – Smolyan reported. The patrols have been agreed by Smolyan Municipality and Chepelare Municipality, which are in charge of the resort. The patrols will have permanent coordination with the police.

Growth of UK tourists to Bulgaria was predicted at 10-15 % by the biggest Bulgarian tour operators at the London Tourism Fair, Bulgarian National Radio BNR reported.
Traditionally winter was the more profitable tourist season, BNR said.
British tourists preferred mainly 4 and 5-star hotels with interest in all-inclusive packages on the rise.

According to the program for sustainable development funded by the PHARE program, 20 mln euro are going to be invested in activities for sustainable development in the first four trans-border ecological zones between Bulgaria and Greece announced BNR.

The programe supposes activities for developing green business in territories which were included in the first project for trans border zones.

Common tourist product, based on spa and wellness services in Bulgaria and Italy was suggested to the US market on the press conference for perspectives of spa and wellness tourism in Bulgaria.

The forum took place in Plovdiv city.

The project's motto is ‘Come for two weeks in Europe - one in Italy and one in Bulgaria' could even receive the support of the European Union.

The legendary alpinist Rainhold Mesner is coming to Bansko. The ski season will be opened on 15th Deceber by Yanitsa Kostelich, Kjetil Aamot and Marc Ghirardelli.

The ski season in Bansko will start on 1st December. All of the ski slopes will be opened and all of the equipment will be fully functional, announced the head of the ski zone Ms Maya Hristoskova.

The country's logo will be placed on 300 billboards in the Czech Republic.

Besides that in Prague's subway 200 posters with Bulgarian ads will appear and even more - 100 banners with the Bulgarian logo will be placed on trams in Prague.

Main purpose of the advertisement is giving publicity for the tourism exposition in February, next year in Prague.

This is related with the negotiated collaboration between Bulgaria's State Agency of Tourism and the Czech side for participation...

Bulgarian association for business and tourist information announced officially the 33 nominations for Bulgarian national symbol.

After received 20,000 suggestions the team sifted out the finals 33, which are divided in 3 sectors - nature sights, cultural and history heritage and foods and drinks.
The team has the ambition to announce the selected symbols in the eve of March 3 - the national holiday of Bulgaria.

Ruins of a little late-Roman fortress, part of the defense system of the Romans in nowadays Northern Bulgaria, archaeologists have found by excavations in Svalenik village.

The fortress was raised in IV Century as a watch fortification, controlling the road in the River Valley of Malki Lom River.

For now archaeologist revealed the south wall and two inner rooms of the fortress.

The finds- coins and pottery- give a reason to claim the fortress had survived after the big Huns and Goths...
