Bulgaria will be presented to the 32nd International Tourism Exhibition International Fair of Tourism 2010, which takes place from 23 to 28 February in Belgrade, Serbia, announced the Ministry of Economy, Energetics and Tourism. Sofia should be transformed into a culture, religious and food tourism and target foreign travelers aged between 16 and 30, according to a new strategy prepared by Austrian company ATC Consultants.

The project forms part of an experience sharing programme between Sofia and Athens financed by BGN 276,000 under the Regional Development operational programme.

Eight years, since the first participation of Bulgaria in the IGTM in 2002, 30 foreign golf tour operatorts and journalists will visit the leading golf clubs and resorts in Bulgaria in April this year.

Dobrinishte organized a winter fiesta on 21 February 2010. The municipality and the local sport association, organized a sport event for Alpine skiing for “Dobrinishte 2010” cup. A horse parade will open the festival dedicated to st. Theodore's day in Momchilovtsi, announced the President of the horse breeding association in the Rodopian village, Todor Popsavov.

The horses and their owners will gather in the farmyard, which is located in the vicinity of the village. Heading the procession will be a farmer, who will cerry the icon of St. Theodore, under the accompaniment of Rodopian music, performed by bagpipers.

Tour operators from Italy and Greece are interested in Rousse and the region, announced the business centre for aid for small and middle enterprises.
This became clear after a meeting of the Enterprce Europe Network in Spain.
The foreign companies are attracted by the great diversity of alternative forms of tourism, offered by Rousse, Silistra, Razgrad, Veliko Tarnovo and Svishtov. The region is famous as a destination for eco tourism, culture tourism, rural tourism and ornithology tourism.

The gambling industry should be included in the general portfolio of tourist services offered in Bulgaria, according to a proposal by the Bulgarian Gaming Industry Manufacturers and Operators Trade Association.

The group has called on the government to draft a long-term development strategy for the gambling industry, which should progress in lockstep with tourism.

Bourgas municipal considers the opportunity for construction of a congress and festival centre in Bourgas, announced the head of “Tourism” department in the municipal Diyana Kolcheva. According to her the town has a great potential to develop congress tourism, not only because it is a regional centre, but also for its excellent transport connections.

Despite the financial crisis, the Rila lakes remain the most visited tourism site in Bulgaria. During the summer season, the region was visited mainly by Bulgarian tourists. However tourists from the UK, Germany and Izrael are also attracted by the picturesque natural phenomenon.
At least 20 horses are permanently waiting in front of the “7 Rila lakes” chalet.


Tourists make a wish to come back to the site, by throwing a coin in the “Babreka” (the kidney) lake. Everyone is impressed...

The snow cover on Vitosha Mountain is sufficient and perfect for winter sport activities just above Sofia. The ski centre announced that today “Vitoshko lale”, “Mecha polyana” and the “Green slope” ski pistes are perfectly maintained and will welcome skiers. Every evening from 06.30 PM – 10.00 PM night skiing is available on “Vitoshko Lale” slope in the resort.
