440,000 Britons Visited Bulgaria in 2007

In the passed 2007 Bulgaria was visited by 440,000 British tourists, shared on Tuesday UK Ambassador to Bulgaria Steven Williams after meeting Varna mayor Kiril Yordanov.
He added that the British colony to Bulgaria is increasing all the time, but he has no concrete data for their exact number.

According to the diplomat they are about thousand.

Ambassador Williams added that many Britons only own properties in Bulgaria without of living permanently in Bulgaria.

Unique Roman Amphitheatre Slumbers Beneath Sofia Downtown

Some archaeologists say that Bulgaria may be called Rome of the Balkans, The Standart shares.
Serdica - an ancient names of Sofia, was a military, economic and culture centre in the Roman Empire.

Ancient Town 'Sevtopolis', Submerged on a Lake Bottom to be Reconstructed

Association ‘Preserve the Bulgarian' starts action for the realizing of ‘Sevtopolis' project.

At first the organizators will collect subscription list throughout the whole country, the projects author and major architect Jeko Tilev announced.

Sevtopolis or the City of Tracian King Sevt III is capital of the Odyisian state in the end of IV - beginning of III century before Christ.

“Agra” International Agricultural Exhibition Opens in Plovdiv

The Bulgarian minister of agriculture Nihat Kabil will open today the International agricultural exhibition “Agra” in the Bulgarian town of Plovdiv.

762 companies from 39 countries take part in the event, informs radio Plovdiv.

Minister Kabil will attend a round table discussion “Agricultural policy – education, science, business”, organized by the Agrarian university in Plovdiv.

Biological agriculture and scientific research and technologies are among the main topics of “Agra” event....

Bulgaria Starts Tourism Advertising Campaign in Russia

Bulgarian State Agency of Tourism (SAT) starts an intensive advertisement campaign of Bulgaria as a tourism destination throughout whole Russian federation.
The campaign is supported by 4 30-second advertisement clips which will be emitted by the national Russian television and leading TV channels in more than 20 big Russian cities from 18 to 29 February.
